The festival began with a parade full of energy on the first day Atham called. The most famous parade takes place in Thrikkakara Temple, which is believed to be the kingdom of King Mahabali. And until the tenth and final day of the festival, people indulge in folk art (pookkalam), music, dance (like Thiruvathira Kali), special dishes, boat races and all that the festive atmosphere at the top.
Thrissur Pooram Festival is a popular festival in the state of Kerala. It is a temple festival flaunting vibrant colors of the culture of Kerala. There are about 12 temples, bringing together and celebrate this festival of eight days. Thrissur Pooram is indeed the end of the festival and is celebrated with fervor in the last day. The festival falls on the Malayalam Medam (Apr- May) month.

Vishu in Kerala is known as Bisu in Karnataka. This South Indian festival falls in the month of April. Vishukkani a sacred ritual performed on the morning of Vishnu; This is to ensure that today's followers see things relating to prosperity as soon as they wake up and wear new clothes. To signify prosperity metal mirror, rice, yellow flowers, betel leaves, fruits, vegetables, holy books, etc; are placed in the prayer room. Makaravilaku is a festival of seven days beginning 14 January each year at Sabarimala. The temple is dedicated to Lord Ayyappa, also known as "Hari Hara Putra". Here, Hari means Vishnu, Shiv and Hara means Putra means son. Lord Ayyappa brings people who follow Lord Shiv (Saiva) and Lord Vishnu (Vaishnites). A priest dances with a jewelry box of God, in the head. There are songs that are repeated to fill the aura and soul with holiness. The festival ended with the ceremony of "Guruthi", an offering to the Lord. After "Guruthi" everyone the temple was empty and no one is left behind.
Christmas is a very popular holiday and has a great importance worldwide. Kerala is one of the few states in India, where Christmas is celebrated on a large parameter. People exchange gifts, decorating Christmas trees and visit the churches to offer sincere prayers during this time.

Theyyam is a form of worship in Kerala, especially popular in the northern regions of Malabar, and Kolathunadu Kudagu.
